Pornstar Population Around The World

Even though we did already have a thorough geographical representation (cartogram format of the sizes of the different porn star populations around the world, I never gave you the exact figures. So here is the world ranking as of July 2016, counting all porntars within each country (active and retired).

Now, the USA's domination stands out quite clearly, with almost half of the world's pornstars being American. The only really serious contender might be Japan, who has known a rapid raise in its number of pornstars these last few years and no represent nothing less than 12% of the world's porntars.

A part from these two Superpowers (that represent 60% of the world's pornstars), there clearly is a second group of Powers, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, the United Kingdom and Russia, all representing around 4-5% of the world's porn star population and together 20% of the world figure. Notice the very tough competition for the 3rd place.

The follows a group of Medium Powers, ranging from 2% to 3% each, with Germany, France, Brazil, Spain, and Canada, totalling 10% when considered together. 

This top-11 of countries who have sturdy porn populations and domestic porn productions as well, the Great 11, thus represent, all added together, 90% of all the world's pornstars. The remaining 10% are scattered around approximately 100 other minor porn countries, some of the most important are also included in this ranking, such as Colombia, Thailand, Romania or Italy.

Notice that this ranking can change over time, and it has already since 2009 as shown by this graph (notice that in 2016, Spain surpassed Canada).

Amongst the big winners of these last 8 years are Japan, Russia and Germany. On the other hand, Canada, Hungary and Brazil have known rather bad years over the period, while the others stagnate or yo-yo around one same position (France, UK, Czech Republic, Spain, USA).
